Builder John McCrea sells 1822 Pine Street to John Roset, merchant, on 21 April 1854. The abstract records the ground and its measurements in the form's standard wording, so it does not itself say whether the house was already standing; the block appears in the city directories from the mid-1850s and Roset is listed at this address in the 1855 volume. This deed begins the documented chain of ownership.
