Plan around it: the rear rooms sit on shallower floors than the front, so give a back bedroom to anyone who minds stairs and send the sure-footed to the top. Two of the fourth-floor bedrooms connect, which is the practical answer for families with younger children who want to stay within earshot. Many multigenerational groups make it work by giving the rear bedrooms, which are a shorter climb, to those who mind stairs.
